    hi pastor butcher? Kevin,
just attended the men’s retreat at
lake Chitaqua, or however you speel it. We came back yesterday, thank you,Im trying not to use churchianity words but simply said you can not speak of pain without personally being immersed in it. You accessed a higher percentage of the men who were there than any other group ministry setting I’ve ever attended. there IS a divide inside people between themselves and everyone else.this divide is created by satan (small s) to hold us back. he held me up for 25 years. My divide is gone. i began work on this before i got to New York unaware of your subject matter which cannot be coincidence. Thank you. Is there a retreat or ministry for woman on same subject I’m trying to help my wife with it right now. Thank You for what you’ve done through Christ. and I pray for you and the pain you have dealt with so constructively. You’ve helped many–but you had to access your pain to do it. I pray for it not to hurt as much and want you to know what a blessing you have been—i was the guy with the crohn’s and the Harley shirt my wife and i hope to visit your church this seaon

GOD’S PEACE AND BLESSING BE ON YOU
    BEAU

Beau – I’m not sure how this works so hope this gets to you or that you come back and access the sight and read this reply. But thanks for the good words – I think you are correct – satan seeks to convince us that “we are different” for “others” – but in reality, we’re all pretty much the same – especially when it comes to our pain. We all hurt. We all need to heal from the hurt. And we all need each other for that healing. I’m so glad, my brother, that you are “on it”. For what it is worth, I sensed in our brief interractions that you were already on the journey…and that the weekend simply carried you a little further down the tracks. As for the sisters…I don’t know of any particular ministry that shares along these lines with women at retreats. But I suspect there ARE some. I know that Beth Moore has a lot of material that encourages authenticity and deep healing in women. My wife has been very touched by her stuff – and Carla isn’t one for much BS, if you know what I mean! I actually think a husband/wife team could do some of this material at a retreat for husbands and wives. I have given all of the talks at co-ed retreats on numerous occasions…and the sisters drink it in just as deeply as the men. In any case, I pray that you and your sweet bride will be able to dialogue together and journey together in authenticity and acceptance…one day at a time. If there is any way I can help, please let me know. Much love to you, my friend. And thanks for taking the time to write. Kevin

I am so glad that I read Pastor Kevin’s blog on waiting today. It has truly inspired me to continue to wait on my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ to make provisions for me. I’ve been looking and waiting on God to provide me with gainful employment that will bring internal satisfaction to me, as well as to others. I realize that God is almighty, and is always in control. I also know that He promised to supply all my needs. He sees all, knows all, and is all powerful. I will continue to wait because I know that He’s not a man that He should lie, and that He sees me, knows me, and loves me. Thank you, Pastor Kevin for sharing with us.

I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you. I heard you speak at a Christian Camp Conference in both 2008 and 2009. I have heard many sermons, and not one has impacted me the way your sermon(s) on truly accepting/understanding God’s love for us has. I purchased copies of your sermons and have listened to them several times in the last couple years. I just listened to them again today, and I still found new truths. Thank You for allowing God to speak through you. God has truly used you to bless me, and for that I am forever grateful.

    Heather

I am so happy I found your blog. I’m a former member of Grace Community Church, probably twelve years ago. Your sermons totally changed my life and I can honestly say because of you I have not only found my faith but I have learned to hold on to it. If it weren’t for you, I would not be on my pilgrimage with God…because of you Pastor Butcher I keep my eyes upon the destination and I will never forget my goal is a person, waiting for me, Jesus Christ!
    Thank you!
    Pam

God bless you, Pam. Your words are kind. Keep following Jesus. There really isn’t anyone else worth following… Peace, Pastor Butcher

Pastor Kevin Butcher….Jees Ow…Kevin, my favorite memories of you back at TU was you as captain of the football team and I was playing behind you in 74.’ Then you got hurt and I had to play in your position against Hanover against a All American Line backer….I made it thru the game but that guy put a hurting on me. Found out later from Dr. Jackson that I played with a appendicitis attack and when back at TU then went under the knife, by grace of God it burst in Dr’s hand as he removed it.

I have been listening your pod cast and read your blog, you always were passion and I praise God for your following Him and leading us. Funny think that you and Carla are parents of three girls and now grandparents. My wife and became grandparents back in January and boy is it fun.
May God continue to bless and thank you brother!!!

    Peace be with you,
    Stephen Gregson
